Announcement: Mad Ice is launching a single in Finland MAD ICE – Baby Gal Mwamba Records Mad Ice is 23 years old upcoming world pop artist from Uganda. Mad Ice is visiting in Finland in July. He is a guest of Mwamba Records, and launching a single and the music video of his hit song Baby Gal. This song has been on top on the charts in East Africa almost one year now. The market area in East Africa covers 60 million people in three countries, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya. Mad Ice is well known of his soft singing voice, charming personality, from his professional attitude to making his music and most of all, of melodic songs which are produced with high quality. The man behind the music of Mad Ice is Finnish producer, Miikka Kari. Producer Miikka Kari, also known as “Mwamba”, has worked with ambition with East African artists for many years now. He played a big role in the uprising of Tanzanian Hip-Hop and urban music (Bongo Flava). He produced piles of top ten hits, and his work has helped many of the young artists to break through and make their living with music in Tanzania. Miikka “Mwamba” even got awarded as a best producer of Tanzania 2002 (Kilimanjaro music awards of Tanzania).Also earlier Miikka “Mwamba” has brought East African artists to Europe. In Finland he has been working with many famous groups, like Rinneradio. Since 1990s East African pop music has raised to its position, not only in Africa, but also in Western countries, like Denmark, Netherlands and in U.S. East African pop music is influenced by traditional music and hip hop. There are plenty of famous young male artists, and making own music has been growing rapidly. Poetry has a high value in East African culture and lyrics are also important in pop music. New pop music also gave voice to younger generation. And the first time also girls and women can keep these artists as idols and even as the symbols of sexuality. Mad Ice is one of the most famous East African artists, and now his music is seriously promoted also to Western music market.
